Who we are

Liberia Medical Mission is a team of professionals based around the world, supporting Liberia and West African countries with medical supplies, education, and aid.

The top cause of death in Liberia is Diarrheal Diseases. In response to the Ebola crisis in 2014, The US’s CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) has sent 30 Public health professionals and partnered with Liberia’s Ministry of Health in training more than 120 individuals as part of Liberia’s Field Epidemiology Training Program.

Liberia is 170 years old today, but it is also one of the world’s youngest countries. The average age of the it’s citizens is just 17.9 yrs.

A considerable amount of the population suffers from mental illnesses or were mentally or physically traumatized, due to 14 years of intense civil conflict. A study by the American Medical Association (AMA) in 2008 had showed that a staggering 40% of adults had shown symptoms of major depressive disorders. 44% of adults also had symptoms of PTSD, or post-traumatic stress disorder.

What we do

LMM provides a number of services, aimed at tackling 3 core areas:


Providing free medical, ophthalmic and mental health  services through mission trips to underserved communities in Liberia and other West African countries. Domestically, we support the local population in Southwest Philadelphia and other parts of Pennsylvania with free healthcare screening and workshops.


Provide mentorship for young immigrants who are desirous of becoming healthcare workers and ongoing health maintenance education to Liberian and West African communities in the United States


Provide health education updates and training for Liberian and West African health care workers across the health care continuum.
